Bio
Jonathan Simmons is an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in critical care and nephrology. A native of Phenix City, Alabama, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University and went on to complete his Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Acute Care at the University of South Alabama.
He began his healthcare career in 2006 and has served in various critical care and nephrology roles across Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. He joined Nephrology Associates of the Gulf Coast in 2013 and became part of Renalus Center for Kidney Care in January 2025, where he continues to deliver compassionate and evidence-based care to patients with kidney disease. He is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is licensed to practice in Florida and Alabama.
With deep faith and a service-oriented mindset, Jonathan believes in treating every patient with the same dignity and respect he would want for himself or his family. His personal philosophy is simple: "Pray, trust in God, and treat people the way you would want to be treated."
Away from work, Jonathan enjoys staying active through exercise and spends much of his free time outdoors—hunting, fishing, and cherishing time with his wife and two children.
