As a dedicated and compassionate Nephrology Nurse Practitioner, Micalyn is committed to providing comprehensive care to patients with kidney-related conditions. With over 10 years of experience in nephrology, she specializes in the management of chronic kidney disease (CKD), dialysis care, kidney transplantation, and acute kidney injuries. Micalyn works closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans that enhance patient outcomes and improve quality of life.
Micalyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Troy University as well as a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama and is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is skilled in conducting thorough assessments, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatments, and educating patients and their families on how to manage their kidney health.
Known for a patient-centered approach, Micalyn believes in empowering patients to make informed decisions about their health and advocates for them throughout their treatment journey. She is passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in nephrology to provide evidence-based care.
When not caring for patients, Micalyn enjoys spending time with her 3 children who are actively involved in various extracurricular activities, traveling to cities picked randomly on a map and strolling through antique/thrift stores looking for items to add to her depression glass collection.
