Bio

Born in Oklahoma City, Julie Ahrend is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a patient-centered philosophy and over a decade of experience in both clinical practice and nursing education. She believes in building genuine connections with each patient—taking time to understand their individual health goals before developing a treatment plan. By combining personalized care with the latest clinical research and best practices, she strives to deliver the most effective outcomes for every patient.

Julie began her advanced practice career with Nephrology Associates of the Gulf Coast in 2019 and in 2025, she continued her nephrology practice as part of Renalus Center for Kidney Care through the clinic’s merger—bringing her strong clinical skills and patient-first approach to a broader team while continuing to serve the community she knows well. Her background includes roles as a nursing educator and clinical learning consultant with Ochsner Health, as well as experience in surgical, senior care, and community clinic settings. Her diverse professional path reflects her adaptability, clinical knowledge, and commitment to improving patient care through education and innovation.

She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and holds an MSN from the University of South Alabama. When not working, Julie enjoys traveling with her family and spending quiet time crocheting.
